ROLEXrifleman
Simple question. Based on pure spl, not sound Q. 12" w7 vs. 12" Type X. Who gets the win? And if someone wants to nit pick, both in SEALED boxes with 1000 watts to each. Whohas used them both and what did you think/ TIA Rolex you sicken me. ROLEXrifleman
just curios, are these your ONLY choices? and why sealed for SPL I know I should be going ported for the most SPL out of the system. I guess I'm going sealed in a stupid attempt to retain some sound Q and get the "tight" hit from the low end vs. the massive air movement from ported. Kind contardicts what I'm going for. As far as the only 2, for now yes. I own a w7 and while it is good, I was told by a friend who heard one ( Type X) that it was the shit and I would sell my w7 right away. I'm loking for bone crushing bass and something in a dual 4 ohm model if possible as I would love to use 4 Punch 200DSM's on 2 12's in my sysytem. I'm always open to other ideas though. hotshot27
Fi Q FTW it has great SQ and will be great sealed or ported [will probably sound better ported than either one of those subs sealed in my opinion] https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/...view.shopscript http://www.realmofexcursion.com/videos/FiCarAudio/q12.5.wmv Current Setup: Factory HU with LOC mids/highs-Insignia components Sub- E8 in bass tube Amp- sae-1200d Show Setup: HU-Sony MEX-1HD (brings massive respect for sony) fronts - Infinity Kappa perfect comps rears- Infinity Kappa coax mid/high amp - Autotek 5600 Subs - 2 RE SE 15's Sub Amps - 2xSAE-1200D Box - 5cubes sealed Wire- Lots of Knu 1/0 SECOND SKIN

///Alpine91
type X and im not favoring alpine, just letting you know that the type X is definatly better and louder than the w7. Another plus with the alpine is they recommend to use their subs in sealed enclosures which is what your going for 1 DC lvl 4 15" 1 Hifonics BXi 1608D 3.2ft^3 Box tuned to 32-33Hz Knu Kolossus Fleks Kable 1/0 Knu Karma SS 8 Gauge Speaker Wire Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X493 Head Unit (coming soon) Kenwood mids + highs (coming soon) Build

Another plus with the alpine is they recommend to use their subs in sealed enclosures which is what your going for The type r would probably take 1000 clean watts in a sealed box Current Setup: Factory HU with LOC mids/highs-Insignia components Sub- E8 in bass tube Amp- sae-1200d Show Setup: HU-Sony MEX-1HD (brings massive respect for sony) fronts - Infinity Kappa perfect comps rears- Infinity Kappa coax mid/high amp - Autotek 5600 Subs - 2 RE SE 15's Sub Amps - 2xSAE-1200D Box - 5cubes sealed Wire- Lots of Knu 1/0 SECOND SKIN

trainman0978
I say the type -X as well. I have heard em both, I don't think they were on anywhere near the same power, but I would still bet the type-X would shut down the JL W7. And I run both brands currently, so no bias toward either brand. 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Voo Doo Blue my upgrades and "build" thread.
