honda Posted July 18, 2008 Author Report Posted July 18, 2008 My setup is not really SPL, its more SQL and a bit of spl. But my cam can't really pick up the low freq making my set up sound like subsonic is setup high, but everything sounds good in person. Sounds big and powerful to kick u in the chest, but smooth and quick enough for any type of music. Maybe next time i'll do an SPL set-up with my second car. honda Posted July 18, 2008 Author Report Posted July 18, 2008 lol didn't think about the holes cause i didn't see a bolt were it came loose. yeah loctite will keep them bolts sturdy Yeah that end of the spoiler doesn't have any screws or bolts. It only had those 3M double side tape. The spoiler was installed by the Honda dealer when i bought the car. It was perfect until i started bumping the D6s. Car audio really gets expensive cuz it's not juz the audio equipment man, its everything else...electrical, sound deadning, fabrications....etc. But no matter what, I still Love this hobby. Cant get enough....hopefully soon i can do an SPL set up, possibly on a Ford Escape, anybody have experience with that vehicle? I'm thinking of doing HDC3s or BTLs and the new Audioque amp AQ3500d.....but not anytime soon. Maybe around christmas.... honda Posted August 10, 2008 Author Report Posted August 10, 2008 I just thought I'd post some of the little things I did to my car today. Well I'm in the process of rewiring my system with new interconnects, fix the ground/white noise problem, and dynamat the trunk. So with all this, I had to tear down my system again for the second time within a month. A lot of work but it's all good. So far I have managed to do the dynamat on the trunk lid. Do you guys cut this shit up into little pieces and put together like a jigsaw puzzle or put them in big sheets? Cuz it's really hard to go around curves and shit. Let me know if im doing it right. Let me know if there are any tricks i should know. btw....i'm getting cut up doing this sh!t. this dynamat extreme can get real sharp. but it's all good, "no pain, no gain" My Soundz: '06 ACCoRD Diamond Hex (front)........................Diamond 2ch x 100Wrms............................Ought-guage Power wire and BIG THREE Diamond 6x9 (rear deck).................AudioQue AQ1200d @ 1ohm........................MTX re-Q (sound processor for stock HU) CDT tweets (rear doors)..................Alpine 4ch x 45Wrms.................................Clarion 7band EQ TWO Diamond D6 12" DVC 4ohm Coming soon upgrades: Batts dynamat trunk kit
Forevrbumpn Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 Looks cool, thats a good strong box there, all in all, I bet that sounds killer, the components, with the subs, good SQ set up and BTW, no one even mentioned the vid... besides the guys in the background trying to make you 2 laugh, you guys were good I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
Shyne151 Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 I built that same box for my CM3s and it sounded amazing... I had D6s afterwards in a different box and it wanged even better -Installer for Duke's Car Stereo 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix - Ported Eaton M90 S/C, 3.5" pulley, XS Power Headers, 1.9 Rockers, FWI, Poly Motor Mounts, Custom Tune. But yeah man, my system is pretty much an SQ set-up but don't get me wrong, it might not be SPL set-up like you see here but shit got some slap too. Thats why now i'm doing the dynamat thing, cuz them D6's along with AQ amp are starting to rattle my car lil too much, my spoiler actually got loose. Now i'm juz fine tuning everthing including the rattling, replacing audio connects, and re-doing my grounds up front for my EQ and HU. so far pretty satisfied with this set-up but maybe next system I'll try to lean towards SPL.....but damn this hobby gets expensive. I used to collect kicks and that shit got expensive, now this.
