Beanz
Work about the same. so could i use the sealed box as like a plan and just make the new box bigger and add aero ports to it?and the aero ports would go on the top right?or would i have to start fresh?and on teh aero porst i noticed that on a pre fab box(obcon makes them)the would have two aero ports one inside and one outside is that how you do it? E-Train
If your wanting specs for a custom box, find someone on here in the subwoofers/enclosures thread that will come up with a design for you, thats what i did when iw as gonna get 2 l7 15's had someone design a box for me using google sketch up, all you gotta do is give them the dimensions of your trunk, and what size your subs are, what power your pushing etc.. The Performer
Just to be safe, you would do best to post the specs of your sub on here and have someone tell you how big to make it and how big to do the port as well. You cant just drill out a hole in a sealed box and make it ported, sealed boxes are smaller in volume than what would be needed for a ported in most cases. Quote CERTIFIED BITCHES!!! MickyMcD
Sling me the woofer model name, how big your woofer enclosure is (preferably including volume) and what style of music you listen to and I'll see what WinISD throws up mate. MickyMcD
Here you go. WinISD has given me this information, this should work for you. If you can, try and EQ out this little rise at around 38 hz and bring 43hz up a wee bit for flat frequency response. I have made this public so other users may comment and ammend data and designs at whim. Go nuts. Overall, you need two 100mm (4") ports, 12" long each. Keep them at least 6 inches away from the walls of the enclosure and you shall be right. Critque away.
