Big Papa Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 I have a 2 channel amp right now. I'd like to be able to achieve a 1 ohm load for the pair without buying a mono block amp. The subs and single 4 ohm coils. Is there anyway of doing this? 06 Taurass SE 1 PPI Pro104 MTX TC 4001D Amp 1.5 CU. at 34 hz After Christmas... 2 PPI Pro104's Audiopipe 1500D 3.4 CU. at 35 hz

roscoe1129 Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 hey 99vic your caps lock is still on lol and to coreo, is your amp 1 ohm stable into 2 channels or can it be bridged 1 ohm mono? if so you would have to have 4 single 4ohm subs to bridge it to 1ohm mono or 8 single 4 ohm subs to run it 2 channel 1 ohm. But to answer your question no you cant do it as you sit with 2 single 4 ohm subs. Some people need a sympathetic pat... on the head...with my hammer Scientia est Vox "In Nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti" DONT BE AFRAID TO USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!! SMD SUPER BUYER/SELLER
wL<3bass Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 Okay sony amps aren't 1ohm stable but to have a 1ohm load you would need 4 svc 4ohm woofers now if your trying to make the amp see 2 x 2ohm then you would need two svc 4ohm subs on each channel wires in parallel.
