trainman0978
7 months at UPS warehouse loading trucks in the 130 degree trucks don't plan on ever quitting either.. more like retiring in 30 years HAHAHAAA.... Did that for 5 years and 8 months. unloaded trailers, loaded trucks, sorted, air driver, cover driver, shuttle driver, night shift sorter, blah, blah, blah... Best thing I did was quit. Try not to get burnt out. Nothing better than getting out of bed at 2:30 a.m. every day, and getting off work sometimes at 8 a.m. and sometimes at 10:30 p.m. ( with a three hour break in the middle of the day ) I was there when we went on strike , You guys have the best contract in the country right now. Be damn proud of what the guys you work with fought for. And just wait till " peak season " a.k.a. christmas arrives. You will go in at midnight to start loading trucks, and your damn trucks will be slammed full by 4 a.m., the belt will be backed up all the way to the sort aisle. You will either make it or you'll quit. You will find out just how good everybody you work with handles stress , DAILY... Try and make it if you like it, one thing about it, tossing boxes all morning will keep you lean and healthy. Look after your lower back, and your knees once you start driving. Good luck. After doing that and a few odd jobs, I am happy to say I have been playing with trains just shy of six years now, and I like this much better.
