I am a VW fan, have been since I bought my first GTI and since then have owned 3. What concerns me on this build is it looks like you have welded some bars over the fuel pump in the trunk, I had to replace mine twice and it is known to go bad on these cars. Just a heads up!

Just a heads up! yes that is a small concern, I made it so If I absolutly had to I could cut the wood out in that area and get to the bolts/screws. I will probably remove the fueltank and pump and install a smaller tank and new pump after I cut the floor of the trunk out, I need space for batteries, if this build goes down the way I see it in my head there will be alot of amps and batts pluss a air ride in the trunk I need more space. yeah Im a big vw fan, originally I was just gonna bag the car and do a mild system in it, then turn the car out, but I think this is more Cooler heh. I will be working on it today I have about 30 feet of steel just sitting here waiting to be cut and welded in. yesterday I worked on the site allday so I had no time for the car.
David Posted March 2, 2008 Author Report Posted March 2, 2008 Thats gonna be ONE STRONG BOX!!! no no no, thats gonna be one strong car !!!, the strong box is really apart of the car now, you would need an oxy/acetelene torch to get it out of there. you honestly havent seen nothing yet, I wish I could draw what I have in my head so you can understand whats brewing in there, but I am no artist so your just gonna have to wait and see what I do next.
