I think its because the tweeter is a add-on by kendrick sound who refurbed the speakers. A way to basically keep the original look of these speakers without changing too much about the cabinet. But yea....binding posts wouldn't have been hard or noticeable. But whatever not like I would afford these speakers anyway. Still cool though
