AI James
has anyone heard of the mean green alternators, they say 300% more than stock, and there the only ones i can find for a durango its because the other companys build to your needs i know EA and Iraggi build for near any vehicle you just have to contact them. mean Grean is a great company also though, i had one in my 98 Eclipse GSX
CUT BUDDY
U sure because that would basically be a HC2400 per amp? 5 maybe instead of 4 rear batteries but I was thinking that 4 would be enough. Hell, a extra 280 for another HC2400 wouldnt hurt though. TEAM MechMan Alternators
thegr8cody
true, basically how this is gonna go is im sellin my amp and radio to get my other btl 18,once its ordered i'm gonna start on my wall that away i got alot of time to get my wall right, then income tax comes my amps,i get them mounted and plan my runs of 1/0 wire, which should be here this weekend, then the waiting game for all the power to push it all,so i just have to deal with starin at a wall i cant listen too :ranting2: then i gotta scrounge around and mug some people :shiftyph34r: for the money for the batts 1998 gmc sierra h/u:eclipse cd3200 sub:dd9518g d1.5 amp:jl e300/4 sub amp:dd m2a front stage:id ctx65cs dc power 270 alt lots of kicker 1/

I know of some one that had two of the big memphis amps (4000rms @ 1ohm) and they needed two of the Kinetik 2400 batteries so they wouldn't see any voltage drops. thegr8cody
thats all they needed was 2,my boy has 2 pc2000 soundstreams, and all he has is a factory alt and a hc2000 and no dimming 1998 gmc sierra h/u:eclipse cd3200 sub:dd9518g d1.5 amp:jl e300/4 sub amp:dd m2a front stage:id ctx65cs dc power 270 alt lots of kicker 1/

I honestly would do about 3 batteries in back 3k RMS alloted to each batteryplus a decent starter battery

So thats 4-250amp fuses off of the T2Ks + 1-60amp fuse from the T3002=1060 amps of fuses.........1-HC1400 under the hood (1500amp) + 4-HC2400 in the rear with the amps (4x2600amps)= 11,900amps max off the batteries. 11,900 worth of batteries running 1060amps of fuses. with 2-260amp Iraggi alts..... And u still say that wouldnt keep the volts up around 14v? TEAM MechMan Alternators
thegr8cody
so how do i fude my wire,i kno 1/0 is 300 amp, since i'm doin 2 runs do i just do 2 300 watt fuses up front, and fuse in between batteries,im new at all this fusing,so i needalot of help to do it right 1998 gmc sierra h/u:eclipse cd3200 sub:dd9518g d1.5 amp:jl e300/4 sub amp:dd m2a front stage:id ctx65cs dc power 270 alt lots of kicker 1/
CUT BUDDY
well I believe u will have a higher fuse rating of just 2-300amp fuses on ur amps if u are running a true 8k rms. What u do is calculate up all the fuses on ur amplifiers....EX: say u have 4 big sub amps that have 200amp fuses on them each + a amp for ur highs that has a 50amp fuse u would calculate 200x4 + 50=850amps of fuses on ur amplifiers. Now the closest u could get to 850amps would be 3 runs of 1/0 with 3-300amp fuses. So u would have 3-positive 1/0 and 3-negative 1/0 wires from ur front battery to the rear batteries. U would put the fuses between the front and rear. Then of course u would have 3+ and 3- wires between each battery in the rear but u dont fuse those because they are already fused from the front. The u put a external fuse that is equal to the fuse of the amp in the line on each amp. So then taht would be 4-200amp fuses between ur sub amps and rear battery and a 50amp fuse between ur small amp and rear batteries. Plus u need to have just as many runs between ur alternator and ur front battery but I dont think u fuse that battery though because that is basically ur battery that ur car runs off of.
