duct_tape123 Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 I thought he was talking about 1 sub to 1 amp at 1 ohm. My bad. Yea, I know that there is no way to get 2 DVC 2 ohm subs down to 1 ohm. Quote
jhmeg2 Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 (edited) Yea, I know dual 2 ohm. Lets do the math. Parallel wiring: 1/ ((1/2)+(1/2))= 1/1 = 1 ohm. Understand? You cant get two dual 2 ohm subwoofers to run off 1 amp at 1 ohm.Parallel = .5 ohms. parallel/series = 2 ohms. series = 8 ohms The only way you are getting a 1 ohm load off two 2 subwoofers is if they are either dual 4 ohm, dual 1 ohm, or single 2 ohm coil configurations. I think I will hace to vote with audiofanaticz on this one.... or maybee we just do math differently here in the midwest Edited September 15, 2008 by jhmeg2 Quote ////Alpine, Eclipse, Load Boss, Pheonix Gold, MB Quart,Digital Desings, Memphis, Stinger, Periphial, MTX, Visualogic

Torres Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 just fyi you actually wont get THAT much more output at .5 ohms than 1 ohm. you'll get more heat and less efficiency than anything. .5 is best in comps for burping Quote

And those transistors are going to get mighty hot.
