Ohm Question

Yea, I know dual 2 ohm. Lets do the math. Parallel wiring: 1/ ((1/2)+(1/2))= 1/1 = 1 ohm. Understand?
You cant get two dual 2 ohm subwoofers to run off 1 amp at 1 ohm.

Parallel = .5 ohms.

parallel/series = 2 ohms.

series = 8 ohms

The only way you are getting a 1 ohm load off two 2 subwoofers is if they are either dual 4 ohm, dual 1 ohm, or single 2 ohm coil configurations.

I think I will hace to vote with audiofanaticz on this one.... or maybee we just do math differently here in the midwest

I thought he was talking about 1 sub to 1 amp at 1 ohm. My bad. Yea, I know that there is no way to get 2 DVC 2 ohm subs down to 1 ohm.

reading>you.. stop the toking and open them eyes up son! Lol

ya but being able to run it at .5 ohms means i dont have to buy another amp

You will if you don't know how to keep hot amplifiers alive. And those transistors are going to get mighty hot.

Cheers,

Mick
