Rainman215
word up. i plan on doing something like this to my accord for 2 12" type rs ported ... then i plan on upgrading to two 12" fi bls. right now im riding with a groundshaker box ... ive built two boxes before but my last one got fucked up cuz of water in my trunk so i needed something fast ... would a design like that (sealed wall but ported) hit harder with 2 type rs/2 fi bls like in the picture or just normally facing the trunk .... i dont mean to thread jack but since its the exact same concept i felt no need to make a whole new post when all the answers could be compiled into one My 02 Accord Wall Build 2 Sundown Audio Nightshade V1 18s --- 1 SAZ 3500 Sundown Audio 100.4 --- 4 Sundown Audio Neo-Pro 8s Sundown Audio 125.2 --- 2 Morel MD-12 Tweeters , 2 Selenium ST-200 Tweeters DC Power 270xp --- 4 XS Power D1200s | 1 D5100R
SPL KID
yes it would work fine i'm in the process of doing mine right now. i went with 2 12 type R because of the final ohm load and space requirement. Plus I had them already and didn't want to buy more subs! Personal best out this setup officially is 146.4 dB on Termlab as of 5-9-09 without the box being sealed off from trunk. Twisted Image
Like I said we like to fire sub up port up wih the box all the way in the back of the trunk. On June 7th we brought our old design back out and were able to do 154.2 backed with 154.0 for the Usaci Trunk 0-1000 World record. We have lots of sound deadner in the car but honestly I think it hurt us more then gain. 57-60hz is the note you want to be playing int he vehicle. We have a large slot port that is 5 in wide on the drivers side firing at the trunk lid. We have destroyed the trunk lid, it constantly leaks and site up from the body lines, and have to have people push on it at shows...but it still gets the job done. my suggestion for your car if you only have 1800 watts clamped would be to drop to 2 subs. We are only using 2 12's ourselves. I think on your power 2 or 3 10's would be the most I would go with that power. Try a sub up port up design and let us know how it works out www.batteriesareus.com Home of Audioforce and The V Batteries USACI Credentials 2009 0-1000 Trunk World Record 154.0db 2009 1001+ Trunk World Record 153.2db 2007 1801-3000 Pro Stock World Champion 2007 1801-3000 Pro Stock World Record 2006 1001-5000 Pro Stock 2nd Place

Twisted Image
how much real world power and what car? 1998 honda civic coupe. highest of 154.8 at 3860 clamped power. We were doing a 152.8 at just shy of 2000 clamped. Both those measurments were on the floor. On the dash we lose 1.3 on both setups. It will get interesting when we get the right coils ont he subs and get a good 3K to each sub. Those X's are not moving that much getting less then 2K each www.batteriesareus.com Home of Audioforce and The V Batteries USACI Credentials 2009 0-1000 Trunk World Record 154.0db 2009 1001+ Trunk World Record 153.2db 2007 1801-3000 Pro Stock World Champion 2007 1801-3000 Pro Stock World Record 2006 1001-5000 Pro Stock 2nd Place
