Guest xXxTeamKickerxXx Posted October 7, 2008 Report Share Posted October 7, 2008 no buts its a real good idea to have. thats what my brother said but he dont have one and his lights don't dim after he did the 3, and he told me not to get a cap i had one b4 it worked good it was a digital 1f stinger and i used it when i powered 2 12" w3 jl's on a mono 500/1 jl amp, any way they got beat by one 15" kicker solo baric so i got rid of em....... caps yes or no? jonathancullen89 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Share Posted October 7, 2008 it regulates voltage, it doesnt do anything but add a burdon to the electrical if you cannot already power your stereo. look at it this way, caps are very fast dischargeing, during constant bass after the caps supply of energy is gone it is trying to charge itself while still trying to power the amp. so its actually harder on the electrical. IMO caps are a waste of money for how much they cost, you can get a decent battery and its way better then a cap for around the same price. n8ball2013 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Share Posted October 7, 2008 the fuse is in place to protect the wire. if that wire gets shorted out you have a chance of burning your car down very quickly. the fuse will blow if shorted out and will not allow current through it. if it is not fused and that would happen god forbid good luck getting insurance to cover it. so is a 40 dollar fuse holder and fuse(at most ) really worth burning your car down.
