So I can take both sides of that argument AND back it up. Someone said check the mass airflow sensor: after I upgraded the throttle body and added a cold air intake to my 05Mustang, I had sort of the same problem... I just made sure things were tight, and one of the thigs I took out/cleaned was that sensor... Maybe it got a tad dirty or was a little loose or crooked after changing the cold air intake but Lo and behold it was running normal after that.
