jonathancullen89
next summer i am re-building my system. im doing 6 15" in the back of my cavy. im planning on a clamshell enclosure but im not sure if it will work or not. to get the airspace i need im cutting out the rear deck and building part of the box in the trunk. im not sure if this will affect the performace of my box because the top subs will have an angle behind them and the bottom subs will have nothing behind them. idk how else to explain this, but will it affect performance with these angles in the box, all 90 degrees and corners will have 45degree angles. what do you all think? this is going to be a groundpounder, its going to be tuned on the low low, and i figure 20cu^ft give or take. im giong to try and draw a picture of what the box will be like, shape wise if you guys dont understand. jonathancullen89
is the angle going to affect performance at at? will it make the subs unload unevenly causing something bad to happen? i really need your guys's help, ive never built a clamshell before. the plan now is inch and a half thick on the sides then there will be 3 layers of 3/4" mdf for the front baffle. then of course support. i dont want this thing to flex at all. Sampsonite
mines 19.75 cuft. before displacement. You can see that the bottom 3 subs are at a slightly different angle than the top 3. I don't have any problems with unloading or distortion. Sampsonite
Ehh, I had it in a 4th order banpass.. ^^You can kinda see in this picture, all the subs were in thier seperate chamber, and ported to the rear. Heres a traditional clam ported to 38 hertz, Just rebuild the inside of the box. Much Better Results Quote --Sampson 816-591-6592 www.kcrimshop.com
