a_plus Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 Its all in the box..... maybe tru but ive seen alot of dd setups i stay like 10 mins away from them and every dd setup . is just loud i just dont like the sound to me dd is all about comp ...well i heard some 10's sound ok.. im thinkin bout gettin some Fi's i hope they dont sound like dd's my setup: alpine iva-w205 fosgate t30001 rf t8004 re 6x9 2 re sx 15's 4 inch fosgate fanatic q components hertz 6.5 comp kicker 1/0 wiring ipod direct connect 2 optimas batts in the middle of rebuilding

Tho its a mid grade RE sub that you use, Im gonna say that RE is all about comp too! and that every RE I heard sounds dirty, and just gets loud... Even tho thats not the case and that RE makes subs for spl, sq, and the do it your selfer stereo guy, oh wait thats just like dd! de de de! If all you are hearing is competition cars that run DD then your probolly listening to some guys fart box that is tuned at 50+ hertz, and if thats the case, no mattere what sub you use will sound like ass and just go BUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP. The 3500 Series woofers have been part of award winning SQ systems, brutal ground-pounders, record setting SPL cars and countless enthusiast systems around the world. The DD way isn't the most cost effective way to build speakers, in fact its about 180 degrees off, but it produces the best speakers possible. That is from the DD website, you dont have to believe it if you dont want, but lots of people do use the 3500 series subs, and they are a cleaner sounding sub then a 9500,9900, or a Z, but you can make a jensen sub sound like a dimepiece with the right box, tuning, amp.

DD makes a sound quality driver too, it's the 9100 series subs. I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Kinda what I thought too. one 18 and be louder then scott owens that has how many subs? Somewhere in the double digits..Thus proving more is not always better But that speaker I purchased is something new for dd. It is a neo mag like on the beast Z series subs that are 15,000rms. These I would think would be more cost effective then the Z subs that cost $3000+. Interesting news from DD: The new 9900 series which was to be ready for next year probably will see the light in advance than previously reported. At the SEMA show held last week in Las Vegas have been exhibited prototypes of a new woofer with neodymium motor, derived 99-Z series, which should represent the new series "99" who had expected. It will not be called 9900 but probably 95-Z, and promises benefits in between today's 9500g and 99-Z. We do not know yet features and prices, we know that will be available only in 2009 but until the actual market prices will not be more specific and characteristic of what was reported here today. I seen the pics on soundpressure a week or 2 back, but then Nick found the site with info on it and pics that where removed from soundpressure. edited for english LOL
