Sub Enclosure Help

Recommended Posts

its gonna be real tight everything wise, it would be nice to have an extra~3cubes so you could fit an optimum box

...or just use 3 and throw one in your girls car or something...hint hint

noticed you have individual amps on each sub, sooo grab one more, move your rack a little bit to compensate, do 3 wide which would look ill

38wX24hX14d, port 26 wide, 3 high, 20 deep, gives 1.55cube per sub, 16.8sq in port per cube, 40hz tuning , very close to optimum specs from kicker, use some poly fill if you want lower curve and "smoother response" (port 20wx3hx27l gives 32hz tuning, 13sqin/cube if u wanna tune lower)

may be a consideration, i think 3 across would look better too

I'm with Raytard on that one. With daily drivers, sometimes less really is more. lol

I would have tuned it a bit lower but the box looks pretty good. I wouldnt mount the amps to the box though. My 4 l78s shoock my sundown to death almost. I took my amps off and now there on the backside of my back seat. Not touching the box. Just an idea but keep up the good work man.

As far as your amps go they are to small. Those 4 subs can take a good 1500rms easy. I would sell them and go with one big one.

I ended up getting a kicker 1000.1 yesterday. Big improvement overall, but is just seems like something isn't right. I think it's a little louder than the 2 10's I had orginally and the 400 watt mtx. But now running 4 10's and alot more power, I think it should hit harder than what it is. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help ray. I was thinking about the 4 10's being on top though. I have to go pick up the other subs right now. PM your email address and I will get back with you later.

James, thats the minimum measurement up top. I could get 16 maybe 17, but I am being conservative. I will be back in a bit.

If you can....stagger the 4 10"s on top and port the back, square port like Steve has. Lots of cabin gain back there in a PT! :D

That was the plan originally, but a few people said the 10's facing back along with the port would hit harder. Maybe I'm just expecting too much from 10's? The prefab box I had was 2.0cf per sub making it 4cf total. I swear it would hit a lower note. The box we built is right at 6cf total. I'm thinking it's too small? Should I try some polyfill and see what happens?
