Solo X 18's

I origanally was going to go with four 15's but came across two solo x 18's. These are going in a 99 2dr blazer and my plane was to wall it and use it mostly for a daily driver. What kind of air space and port do I need for the two? Im going to be using memphis mojo's 4kw on each sub.

solo x's + daily driver = fail

Do like 2 18" fully loaded btls instead or 2 DC Lvl 5 18's imo

or the AA SMD 18's

ive seen one setup ever where the solox worked daily, and that was a smallish sealed box with 2kw

and it sounded like poop, surprisingly tight for a solox, but poop

everyone else with a daily solox has been through a bunch of recones, cant get tuning right, it just doesnt work out well, btls work for daily, and althoguh i havnt personally used one, im guessing the lvl4/5 dc's do as well

solox is so meant to be a 5 second fart machine

or you could do what these guys said. go ahead, get some btls so that you can have the same fuckin sub that everyone else on this forum has. or you could branch out a little bit and try something else, which is what i would do.

theres nothing wrong with trying something new, but from experience, for a daily car, a solo-x isnt the best choice, in value, sq, or durability

btl and dc are the things that come to mind off the top of my head for 18's, and most people on here

if you want to be unique you can run 17 nakamichi spw-1210's, noone has ever done that, ive seen a half dozen cars walled with two solox18's

if you want affordable, reliable, and good sounding, i suggest just not going with solo-x's

i never suggested solo x's as an option, he just asked box size.

fi and dc are the first thing that comes to anyones mind on this forum, and it shouldnt be that way. there are other brands out there

for ported you can go between 5 and 10 cubes per sub. I personally have been runnin my solo x 18 for 3 years on a kicker kx2500.1, never had any problems or had to do any recones

I dont agree that solo-x + daily = fail.

I know 2 people that run them daily, one person has 1 18 and a rf t40001bd on it, burps right under a 150 in a yukon.

The 2nd person I know has 2 18s in a burban with 2 rf 20001bds and burps a 148.7 last time he was at a show, but is just a basshead in a low tuned box.

Here is the burbon with 1 sub and amp, tho the subs hold up fine, the amps hate him, and he always frys them (hence why one is on the seat) but he wont listen to anyone and needs that maxxed out gain setting...

mine work fine for daily

if your doing a regular ported box i would do 10 cubes per and 100sqin of port pretty much specks from kicker

my old sixth order would do 150+ from 29-65hz it was 33cf total
