What Clamp Do You Use?

I am interested in getting a clamp to test out the output on my new alt, but i don't know what one to get. i was looking at some Flukes but they are hella expensive. So what do you use?

Been an installer for four years and have never needed one. But the fluke is definitely where it is at... if you aren't gonna use it everyday just pickup a cheapo craftsman.

DUMP need to know if these are good.

Fluke 335 or the 336.

Each of these are very good meters. I use a Craftsman and it works to measure AC current only. I didn't spend the extra money to get the DC clamp option. None the less it is very useful for determining power, impedence, and such.

335 looks like it only does AC. if you checking a alt get a DC. the 336 does ac/dc

you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol

not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be.

THANK YOU so much for pointing that out. really i almost was about to get that. the thing is i know a kid who goes to a vocational school for eclectic and he can get flukes alot cheaper. so i'm going to see what he can get the 336 for. thanks again for pointing that out.
