jmitch
i been pondering, i have a 95 ford probe with i beleive is a 80 amp stock alt, and i was tryin to figure out that if i just got an HO alt just for the system would i need to hook up the alt plug for it to work? the outcome would be if it feasible is stock alt running the cars electronics and 2nd alt running the system. thanks. meade916
definitly will work but i would never do it like that. Unless your running a 16v system there is no point to seperating the two at all. If your doing a 12v system, I say run them in parallel and call it a day. Owners1
I had a horror story trying something like that. I got another alternator for just my system and didn't wire them both together. Few days go by and my car is really smelling like SHIT.. I couldn't figure out what it was and finally I opened up the back and the batteries were fuming. The alternator wasn't linked to the other one so it had no regulation and was charging the batteries at 17v =x Quote Hummer H2 ( Crossfire XS V2 15's (4) Crescendo Audio BC 5500s (16) Crescendo 6.5's, (16) Crescendo Tweeters, (4) Beyma 8" Midrange http://www.youtube.com/Owners1

missinglink
Why lose what extra your factory alt can give. Tie the system together and it will be fine plus give you a little more power to things overall. MLA Quote missinglinkaudio The United States Marine Corps. mrafrica
just tie them together so you will get even more going to your batterys and amps. you probibly will prefer it to be that way when you see how it will give you more power Quote And far as the best connection ever....... get a huge fucking battery, cut the top off, drop an alt in there and then pour all that into your big amplifier. or just smelt them all together.
