Rca Voltage Different With Tones And With Music?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so refer to this for my testing results..

http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=35235

Now my 5-7 v on music is just where I want it.

the 10.3 on a tone is bad though.

-------------

recently my subs have been cutting out (I think the amp is going into protect) on long bass notes, like late night tip or BME click. I tried to make sure pwr/ground are all tight and etc.

but right now my best guess is too high of an RCA voltage on music that's like a tone, see what im saying?

Is the voltage really this much different? I checked with a DMM, but I really want the 5-7 volts on muisc

any ideas?

x2.....that 5-7v on music is not the way to do it. The ONLY way that works is if you ONLY use that one song you tested with for the rest of your life LMAO. Music is dynamic and no two songs are the same. Even same-songs wont be the same if they are ripped/recorded etc differently.

use a TONE and get an O-scope. Your voltage doesnt matter NEARLY as much as whether or not you are clipping.

ok, thanks guys. i'll reset it with a tone.

35 hz (close to box tuning and music to be played) or 50 hz? (AC, prob what DMM reads?)

50hz tone using the rms voltage chart that exposport has in his sig as a link. measure the voltage on AC with a DMM. But seriously!!!!, get an O-scope!!! That is the only right way to set up your electronic equipment. I would rather not clip rather than set my shite up with a dmm and end up clipping and not knowing it. Just like meade said.

Loud as f*ck, and sounds good doing it.

Team built from here on out!!!!

BIG things to come.........

Missing link is the shite!!!
