Maybe. You can make your own flared ports with pvc. All you need is a fairly large metal bowl that you can use to heat up the pvc with a heat gun and push it down over the backside of the metal bowl. You can continue to do that until it creates a flare at the end of the pvc. Now do that to both side and you've got yourself a homemade flared port. Or you could make a mold using mdf rings and bondo to make a flare if you want, but the metal bowl is the easier way to go.

it would be regular pvc, if it works and i like it then i'll spend the money on aero's. you seem to have experience with round ports, how do they sound daily compaired to slot

recently ive been using slot ports for ease and its cheaper. i also dont have a large box so lengths of the ports get to be too long to be logical... but psp aeroports do work and sound verry good

if you do use regular pvc, double the wall of the box the ports are located on. mount them flush with the first piece. on the top piece use a router to make the holes, then use a 1/2" or 3/4" roundover bit to achieve a slight flare that will help if using pvc to give a more similar sound and spl u would have got with aeros

Do round ports sound any better than slot ports. I noticed a slightly smoother sound out of my last box with pvs ports vs my box now with a slot port. But Im not sure if this is a fair comparison since I doubled my cone area and my quadrupled my power.

Typically a round psp will sound better than a slot port due to it having less port turbulence. Port turbulence is when the air is forced through too small of an opening causing a whistling or a muffled sound, and it will affect the sound quality and output of an enclosure.

well the port in my box now is a 13x13 port tuned to 40hz. im just ready to try a diff box

it will be 10cuft net with 144sqin of port. question is should i run a single 12x12 port, or 5 6in round ports?

Give us some more info. What is your goal for this box? spl or daily? What tuning? I recommend round ports no matter what but the goal of the system will help determine exactly how much port area should be used.

well i was wrong on the box size, it's going to be 12.4cuft after sub and port tuned to 36hz for a daily driver. but if the box doesnt work as good as my present box i'll i'll just go back to the original box. it'll will be a 200sqin port
