steel rods takes up less air space, and causes less turbulance.

I agree but if you cut the 2x4's down to 2x2's and then use your router to round the edges and your fine with turbulence ( they become pretty much round)  and a 16" 2x2 rounded takes up very little air space

All-thread has worked well for me. however I never tried 2x4's. if you have some laying around I would throw them in there.

My System:

Pioneer AVH-P3200BT

4-Dayton 7 inch reference series (front doors)

8-Onkyo 3/4 inch tweeters (dash)

1-Sundown Audio 100.4D (mids/highs)

2-18" BTL's (for now)

Crescendo 3kwp (for sale)

Complete rebuild coming soon...

what about wooden dowels? if you get a large enough diameter do you think it would be as strong as a rounded off 2x2 yet require less time & effort?

3 Maxx 29 deep cycles

Let me see if I can get the box into the expedition today and take a picture of it when I go to my friend's house...

The box is heavy as shit already... With the floor, back wall, and sides on it's already heavy as fuck!

Can't imagine how heavy it's gonna be when it's done...I'm going to see if I finish the box up tomorrow...then get started on the bracing and lots of fiberglassing.
