banginAltima
Why does it say on the battery not to exceed 14.4 volt for charging? (I see people charging around 15 volts all the time on here) What will happen if my charger "exceeds" 14.4 volts? Edited February 5, 2009 by banginAltima Quote If you build it, db's will come... banginAltima
The PowerMaster charger charges around 15v. Really? Wonder why it says not to exceed 14.4 on the battery?? My charger chargers them around 15.1 to 15.2. I might drop them by to put on your charger. I will drop the meter off too. Quote If you build it, db's will come... audiofanaticz
I dunno... But I been running my d3100s for almost 2 years, floating my voltage to them around 15.9-16.2 volts before my car would wig out.. Then I kept them on a constant trickle charge whenever my car was parked at home... Needless to say my redtop burned up, which I noticed when I took the d3100s out of the caddy for my hoe. My batts are still strong as hell and work perfect and rest at 13.8+ volts. Edit: I do want to say Ive remembered lots of people running their Kinetiks at 15 volts (nothing too high) and they burned out.. So I guess we know who the inferior battery company is... scottiej
Charging at 14.4V promotes the longest battery life... anything above 14.9V can cause slight loss of life depending on how far above 15V and how much amperage is used. No immediate damage will occur, but we usually recommend keep it below 15V to be safe. banginAltima
Well so far I am not liking my Powermasters.... I got them 2/4, pulled them out of the boxes and they read 12.6. I put them on my charger at 14.8 to 14.9 for around 12 hours. When I checked them the next morning it didn't show being fully charged. After that I took them off the charger. I got a friends powermaster charger and tried it. I put it on the AGM setting at 25 amps (Like I read in the Powermaster section on the forum). It was charging at 14.1 and I clamped it at around 3.5 amps. It errors out everytime. What is going on!!! Any help will be greatly appreciated. Quote If you build it, db's will come...
