check snapon, ive used the plastic kinda looking ones (i guess theyre some nylon composite or something like that), they come in like 4 different shapes and sizes and work really well, and dont scratch anything really.

If you goto harbor freight they have like a 5 or 6 piece blue plastic panel popper set... best thing out for dashes, imo. Comparable to the bright green tsunami panel poppers circuit city gave to installers wayyyyyyyyy back. I also have a couple snap-on ones like the first link you posted for door panels.
