E a r t h
the bottom plate is somewhat flexable, so i can see this happening depending on where and how you mount the amps, and the material under it. could be a mounting point thats an uneven surface, or thick material pushing up on the bottom plate while mounted
audiofanaticz
decent fix, altho I think your problem will reoccur pretty soon. Electrical tape aint nothing to thick and if you had problems with rubbing before, its still going to be there and just rub thru the tape. My spl amps have some sort of thicker heat resistant pad it looks like that is really stiff and some what thick. Or use something more absorbant such as sound deadening material (perferbly something without a metal backing like black hush mat).
Zade08
Ya I still need to go to the hardware store and get a different material. Te electrical tape was just a quick fix. Ima look around a bit and update wit what I find and how it works out. Quote Vehicle: 2001 Ford Escape Head Unit: Kenwood Kdc-x592 All out for a rebuild. New shit coming in the next 30 days. Dr. Johnson
Why wouldnt you un hook all of the wires like remote, power and ground at least before opening up an amplifier?
Zade08
Why wouldnt you un hook all of the wires like remote, power and ground at least before opening up an amplifier? I undid my fuse at the front bat as its easier than disconnecting all the wires. Quote Vehicle: 2001 Ford Escape Head Unit: Kenwood Kdc-x592 All out for a rebuild. testtones
Why not just replace the bottom plate with plexi or lexan?
