XX Goliath or T40001BD

BIG-SEXY AUDIO

Recommended Posts

Well I stumped at the moment, because the plan has been T40001BD, because I know those BD amps don't play at all. But the HiFonics amps I've been working with these passed few weeks have really empressed me. The BX1206D's haven't even got warm through hours of slamming. And the Goliath's just $300 more than the T40001bd. So am I going crazy to be questioning the 4000 or is that Goliath a pretty bad bitch. Because the 4 L7's can handled more than 1k RMS. The Goliath specs are near the 4000, but the 4000 plays lower, just give me your insight. Holla!!!!

What do you mean the 4000 plays lower? I would choose the T40001bd.

I would recommend the T4000's for sure. You can master/slave them so that both amps are perfectly matched in all areas ( The gains, frequency setting, ect..) You can run them both with one bassknob and the RF T4K's are great for STREET bass, 12-14 volts. I spent a pretty penny for mine and they are working out great.

Remember, you get what you pay for, also the rockford fosgate T4K's got alot of cool features on them, check it out on their website. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/home/

I am not dissing on the Hifonics, most people remember when I ran two of their Zeus amps a few years back and they were decent, but the RF's are very very nice and were my choice. Good luck either way

Sorry guys haven't been with a computer in a while, for nearly a week. Ya'll been fighting on here or something. Well check this Niell Barber of Audio Extreme is hooking me up with a XX Gotiath for $1,200, who could beat that. Neill is famous been it comes to dB drag, his been in the 160dB range for a few years now, he's apart of team MaxxSonics. He told me his seen guys with two of these out beat guys with 4 to 8 T40001bd's. He also stated the XX can reach 7k RMS at 16volts. So it got me thinking, I could buy two XX-Gotiath's at the Retail Price of one T40001bd. 5700 RMS is the average birthsheet for the XX. So over 10,000RMS for the same price as 5000RMS tested. Call me crazy but the XX's are looking pretty damn great!

Seeing that you think to know your shit (not saying you don't)... You should know that a statement like that made by Neill "My hifonics amps beat so and so many RF amps" all depends on the install. I wouldn't pay any attention to some one that told me some thing like that.

That is a nice amp but....

Performance When I began to measure power levels, I found the power at 1.0% THD+N was a little lower than quoted in the specifications. After double checking all my measurements, I realized that Hifonics does not qualify their power figures with a distortion limit. By letting the amp run a little into clipping, I could get the claimed power from it, but at distortion levels around 2% to 5%

The RF exceeds specs!

TEST RESULTS

OUTPUT POWER @ 1%THD,

100Hz, 14.4 Volts

Mono @ 4 ohms 1,708 watts

Mono @ 2 ohms 3,062 watts

Mono @ 1 ohm 4,696 watts

The RF can get with that!

At about $5,000, this amp is not cheap

RF T4000 list at 2499.99. You can get 2 for same prices at MSRP

I hear ya getting a good deal makes the differance and good luck with it!

Let us know how it works out!

No doubt guys, I've worked with many RF T1000bd's and all I can say is WOW, but I've been working with a lot of HiFonics Products her lately and WOW just the same. I just feel safe with Neill backing me up the HiFonics guys in his cell phone. He stated that if I have any (I mean any problems) he'd have me a brand new amp in three days tops. Either one is sounding great to me. I believe the XX will power near the same power as the T40001bd. And to clear things up about me running two of the XX's. That will be at 2ohms per amp (3.2k RMS @ 2ohms) (1600w RMS to each sub. I haven't made up my mind yet. Just needing some real insight. So if anyone owns a XX-Goaith or T40001bd let me know.

I have this dream of this underground culture in mind, coming to life through the Audio that I build, Deep Perfection.YUKON'S SITEhttp://www.cardomain.com/ride/2397609
