Cactus Sounds 5k

well guys i have a chance at getting a cactus sounds 5k for a great price! and i want it really bad! ill then be able to get my XLs the power i want give em...2500+each

but i am worried bout my electrical, this amp is rated at 500A current draw...

i have 3 powermaster D925s, big3 in 0ga, 200A alt, and MLA mod. rite now w my hifonics XXV Colossus i dont drop under 15v at full tilt @ 2krpms.

so w that said wat are your guys thoughts on the amp and how it would do w my electrical.

You will need a way better electrical to run that Cactus amp. Try about 3 more 925's to start. I would say at minimum a pair of D3100's, but if it were me I'd run 3 or 4 of the 3100's for that amp.

i was afraid of that...the guys that i maybe getting this from had 4 of em and was running them on a stock alt, w 2 of the cactus CS9000batts i believe.

Cactus 5kw = Atomic AT5000.1D = A million other amps around this size.

I know someone running one for SPL on a single Kinetik 1400 with a stock alt

It can be run off little but it's not going to produce full power and last very long when the voltage drops too low and smokes the amp. Six 925's have a total of 168 AH which is less than even 2 D3100's that have a total of 234 AH. That's why I said at least 3 more if not even more than that. The 925's just don't have a ton of reserve and if this is going to be beat on daily you'll need some batteries that do have the juice for the long run especially if you don't have a super high output alt. I'd say that 200 amps is good but it's not great and your gonna need some batts to help out.

you make a good point...and i do see wat your saying...but its not like ill be driving around w it full tilt...the only time it will see full tilt is at comps or giving demos, and i can say i give 3 or 4 1minut demos a week and comps...i plan on being at alot of em but those are only 30second runs.

I think you should be fine just remember that amp is built by a street compedator for street compedators so he did facter in that it would see low voltage

yea im thinkin im just gona get it and see wat it does on my electrical...and if worst comes to worst ill sell my amp and batts that im runing rite now then get new batts:)
