meade916
i plan on wall socketing a sub possibly tonite (got fresh recones ready).....but i dont plan on socketing up a brann new sub - no way! my "new" Btl's that are about to come out when i get my SMD's but even those are still stiff as a board and in bran new condition after an entire year of abuse.... ive never socketed a sub so anyone have any pointers for me to not burn my house down or get electrocuted would be helpful LOL! Will a power strip with a surge protector thing work? Ill probably do it in series first because its safer but if it takes it good ill go parallel and take it out the rest of the way haha Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! meade916
I don't have much to bass it on but the kickers definitely seem stiffer than most speakers. if you think a kicker is stiff, you dont wanna see a BTL with 7 spiders Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! raytard
the stuff i socketed, i took a like a generic extension cord, cut the end off, stripped back pos and neg and put it to the sub (or radio, or whatever needed to be blown up), plugged that into a surge protector strip with the on/off button, and then plugged that into the wall (garage socket usually used for table saw/air compressor, dedicated 30 amp breaker) click the button, watch the fun, click off when you're done and yes, those btls are ungodly stiff, i was so shocked when i saw them beating off an amp when i could only move it a few mm's by hand and kicker cvrs arent very stiff at all, single spider and a very compliant surround. they're great for what they are, but nowhere near a stiff woofer. slugdub
Well this is as shitty as I had thought. I'm listening to great speakers with great music but can't 'wang' on em. I suppose I won't know how good or loud they sound until they are loosened up anyway, breakin-period or not. at least the old pillow i cut open and tossed inside is workin its magic
