Derrick824
Did you have to roll it to keep it out of protect? I was contemplating the same type of testing in my car just to see what is possible. Did you by any chance get the power that it was making at that impedence? I'd be very interested to know what a 1500 makes at .25 ohms. I left my remote knob all the way down, turned the HU volume up, then as soon as I tried to turn the knob up the fuses blew. It still hit a 150.1 though. Second run I just left the knob all the way down and hit a 149.9. I did not clamp it.
Nightshade
That's cool though. I wouldn't doubt it if that sucker was making over 2300 watts. How much power does it usually take to do over a 150 in the expo? Not that that's a very fair comparrison, but just gives an idea of how much that 1500 was cranking out. I'm very impressed with the number and the capability of the amp to do such a thing. Since I do mainly Comp Only events, clamped power has never been a big concern of mine.
Derrick824
what do you tune your boxes to? My Expo likes to peak in the 50s so it's tuned to 40 for good TL #s while still being able to play music. It is not the best sounding on music being tuned that high but it is capable. This is not a fart box.
Torres
yeah i always assumed you made musical boxes. then i realized i never knew tuning frequency. the next box i make i'm either going to tune it somewhere in the middle, or do two ports. cuz i like getting low low
banginAltima
yeah i always assumed you made musical boxes. then i realized i never knew tuning frequency. the next box i make i'm either going to tune it somewhere in the middle, or do two ports. cuz i like getting low low I can tell you I know what Derrick is trying to do.... to see how loud he can get with one 1500/2000, that's why the freq is so high. Now I can tell you this joker can get loud with low tuning too. Edit: his current box can play music pretty good too Edited April 4, 2009 by banginAltima Quote If you build it, db's will come... Mine is a '93 2dr sport. Everyone else with these seems to peak around 52-53hz. Guys with the new model Expos are peaking around 41-42hz. I bet yours is a 4dr. In my experience the longer the vehicle the lower it's resonant frequency. I also have an old 2dr '87 Nissan Sentra. Its so small I can stretch out my arms and touch both the windshield and back glass at the same time. What little bit I've played with it the peak has been at 63hz.
