Exposing Amps To Pressure...

Is it a bad idea to expose amps to 160dB of pressure? I noticed Neil Barber has some of the amps as his center console for the highs and he runs them during his bassrace runs.

The reason I ask is because some ideas I'm having for the next build require my four channel amps to be in the cab mounted behind glass as part of the center console, but if it's going to risk messing them up, I don't want to do it.

Let me know what you think!

shouldnt be a problem.

I have exposed many PCBs to over 160 dB and no issues have arisen.

I dont think the pressure is so much of an issue as vibration, there really isnt anything in there that would be crushed by that kind of air pressure, but the vibrations would probably be bad (even at 130db if the amps are close enough to the subs/on the box/on something flexing it can cause damage)

so, as long as its mounted to something not vibrating/flexing it should be fine imo

honestly every amp ive ever had has been mounted to the box and ive never had issues with vibrations...

and theres not THAT much pressure inside the vehicle...yes its a lot to humans but really its around 170-180 when its starts to be considered 1 PSI which im sure the parts can handle that pressure

Excellent. My plan is obviously to deaden the surface I'm building for it so there's minimal vibration so I guess I'll just follow through with the plan.
