BanginOnABudget Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 hey everybody, im looking at a few subs, a re se 15" being one of them, and wondering, how much power would that suck up? do you think a us amps merlin 1200w would feed it enough? im not gonna be going full tilt, and probly wont put it past half way to show people how it does. if any of you have owned one, i would love ur opinions on it. thanks! im taking out my passenger seat, battery is disconnected, going to unwire and take out the three amps, take out the 70+ lb box, then the platform so i can crimp 1 wire. Almost as bad as those fegs that put those horns in their grills and roll down the street distorting the block.... 1990 Jeep Cherokee 2 Dr. Big-3 in 0g on Stock Alt. AI James Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 yea pm greg, hes not going to as a company tell you to run double RMS on a sub, so that he can warranty it later and take money out of his pocket. ive put 1500 to an SX np but an sx isnt a se sx has the same coil as the xxx and the mt so of course its taking more power. the se has a different coil hence the issue with double rms daily imo. plus the SE is meant as a SQ sub line, its rather retarded/pointless to double up rms on it to try to get that extra little bit of volume out of it. i can put a se on 600-700rms and be just as "loud" as you guys who swear you need 1000-1200 for the 600rms sub. Hell its not even a SE only thing, in general i hate when someone new comes on here and we have 10 tom bick and harrys telling them to run double RMS on somethign they clearly have no clue about, so they are asking questions about.
