Street
I have a friend who has two 12" platinum subs he wants to paint black because theres scratches and spots that have formed over the time hes had them. He asked me if it would mess them up if he painted them, said i didnt kno, so can sumone help out here? Didnt kno if painting them would crack the paint, or mess up the seals, or make the cone weigh to much. Heres a pic of what they look like, there titanium... i think Quote My Babies 97 2.5 Avenger, 92 5.0 Fox, 97 2.0 Turbo GST Eclipse, 00 2.0 Jetta, 06 GSXR 600, 98 CBR 600, 01 GSXF 600, 93 CBR 900RR Wilwoods dont slow your car down, they slow the earth down under your car...remember that next time you slam your brakes, you may spill my drink. rawlins87
your gonna have to spray thick enough to cover the scratches...either with primer or alot of color. adding weight to the cone (mms) if i'm correct will lower the fs...? not sure if that would hurt or not...it shouldn't be that heavy. white4d96
I wouldn't do it; if it's a foam surround, there's a chance the paint could attack the foam...bad thing =/ Quote Too many projects, too little time...

Joeskey
yea the subs with the foam around the edges, the paint might literally eat through it like crazy!
