cc_audio Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 "Polishing a Turd" Haha nice title. Thats one of my favorite sayings. Used it alot when all my friends got their first POS cars. They immediately talked about making ricers out of them and so I would say... "You can polish a turd, but its still a piece of shit!" All that body work inspires me to fix the cancer on my car. But I really don't feel like fixing the rust. I'll definately keep watching. Make sure you list products you use on this cheap body revamp. I would love to repaint my car but I can't afford the $2200 to do it right, so I like money saving ideas. Keep the pics coming. It's all gone! AI James Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 I don't live in California. IMO it was very worth it. whats california have to do with it,salt water air is a bitch on cars. and if you really cared about rust youd have zinc primered it...but i guess its not all that worth it
eliassami5 Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 those civics can look really good when done right, it was sick with the rims before but now it looks like shit with the mismatched steel and aluminum rims and what not. But the paint isn't really all that bad considering it is serving a function, to keep rust off the car. My Jeep has gone through several different colors from white primer to different shades of red and that sort of thing just to keep it from rusting and because it usually takes me 2 weeks to finish a body work project on it so i leave off wherever and then come back later in the week to finish up the repair job (its my daily driver). Paint is all faded from the sun, primed bondo repairs on the rocker panel, hood is a bright red while the whole car is a faded dark red lol, etc. But it just feels good to be working on your own car and i just like it looking like its a work in progress, but one day it will all be painted one color and then all your hard work will really show. Keep doin work tho 91' Jeep Cherokee - The Heep Just Empty Every Pocket 96' Volvo 960 - The B◘x [sPL_4_U] HiFonics - Alpine Pioneer - Clarion Infinity - Kicker KnuKonceptz
