I use the Ultimate Ears UE-11 Pro custom molded and they sound and feel wonderful. I mainly use them on stage but they sound great with any source. Around $1150 plus the trip to the ear mold specialist. I use them with the Shure psm-700 wireless system and a Rane in ear processor. There is no comparison!!!

you lucky son of a bitch.

UE's are so nice. i want a pair of the higher up regular earbuds (not the custom ones) the triple fi's (i think). but i cant pay that much for a pair of headphones i might use a few hours a week.

So far I have tried a pair of sony, Koss, Bose, and the lowest end skullcandy.

The sony's are fine but very mid level...mid level bass, mid level loudness, mid level clarity. OK at best.

The Bose were my least favorite, as they were very lacking in bass, treble, and distorted something serious. They were also the most expensive pair. I will say that they were not mine, and therefore I can't account for how well they were taken care of, so they may have been a little damage

The skullcandy's were only 25 bucks, and get very very loud, and pretty clear up into almost the highest of volumes. Not too great of bass, but were clear so it isn't the biggest issue.

The 2 Koss sets I have had were by far the best for the money that I have tried. My newest pair gets louder, and has an adjustable volume control, which I hate, because I always accidentally hit it and rip my eardrums out. It however gets less clear than the old ones, especially at high volumes. My old ones did not have the adjustable control, and weren't quite as loud, but still plenty loud, with very impressive bass (totally responsive down to 20 hz). The sound quality on those was amazing even into full volume.

In terms of build quality, all of them were ok, but nothing super impressive. I'm pretty good at keeping my electronics from damage, so I've personally never had an issue with any of them, just lost or stolen.

more to come.

upcoming addition v-moda bass freqs and v-moda vibe duo

i'll get them sometime in the next week so i'll put them through their paces

play them overnite at 50% volume, helps for the bassfreqs to reaaly reach below 20hz, i felt like mine were tryin to escape my ear canal on ~16hz because there was so much pressure

i feel as if i read to do that on the package or maybe online...

a week of normal use seems to do the same thing as 8hrs non stop with a variety of music

those tiny 10mm diaphrams as so small any change to the softness makes a big difference
