mbdblue Posted May 5, 2009 Author Report Posted May 5, 2009 dont really know much about whether or not there would be a big # difference but its mostly 2 things: Im not wild about the fact that its hard to hear/see the sub distorting in a bandpass and I wouldnt know the first thing about calculating airspace and tuning the port for them... mbdblue Posted May 6, 2009 Author Report Posted May 6, 2009 so it looks like my options are to go with either sub up-port forward or sub down-port forward....cuz Ive tried to research bandpass but I havent been able to find any info on what size airspace the sealed box should be and the vented box should be....so my next question would be, how much space would you put between the sub and w/e is in front of it....ex. sub down would hit the bottom so how much space would you have to make sure it doesnt?...and if anyone has any input on the sound/spl of these setups lemme know...this is all pretty new to me cuz Ive only ever done standard sealed or ported boxes... Torres Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 i'd just allow for a couple inches for the excursion of the cone. it should be safe otherwise. the port is what you gotta have a certain distance from other objects. i think it was in joe's thread with the s10 that his subs actually touched the seats? dno if that was with them playing or off. but definitely close either way Quote
Team Nemesis-DJ Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 (edited) banginaltima did it. you see his numbers its subs up ...port forward ... edit .....to the OP ...if it was me ...i would sub forward and port to drivers side Edited May 6, 2009 by Team Nemesis-DJ Quote
