emperorjj1
if its a dual 2 how could you have wired it to 1.4 or 2 ohms in the first place? only used one coil? J. Derrick824
no sound at all even off the bat seems like one of the coils were reversed. normally the speaker would blow first, but i don't know anything about that amp. ^^ Ding Ding. My money's on one coil wired backwards which will typically send an amp into protect but could very well lead to letting out the magic smoke. audiofanaticz
only used one coil?Ive seen this a lot, but more then that Ive seen people wire up 1 coil to the amp correctly and on the 2nd coil they just connect the post and neg together. Normally when they connect the coil like that the sub and amp will still play somewhat normal at low to mid volumes, and go protect happy at a higher volume, and sooner or latter risking a blown amp. bennett15
guessing thats what i did because i had it in series then wires going to the box i just used the + and neg on just one coil when i should have took the + from one coil and the - from the other? 98 Dodge Durango 12 000K 50/55W Headlights 12 000K 35W Fog lights HU Panasonic CQ-VX100 7" Reciever (1) Fi SSD 18" Fully Loaded (1) Ported box 33hz (1) Soundstream TRX1500D (1) Soundstream TRX2.440 (1) RE 6.5" Component Set (1) Rear battery Big 3 in 0/1 gauge 2 runs of 1/0 Gauge wire 250A Alt soon.. Noob_On_Droid
I've ran the 1600 and 2000 at .5 ohm full tilt 12v My money is wiring to a dead short and a bad roll of the dice. What size amp was this? And what model? 06 08 or 10?

Boon
Can you draw us a little diagram of how you had it wired? You can't wire a D2 sub to 2 ohms... 10.x volts fo' life!
bennett15
this is how i have it wired rite now and at the amp i get a 1.4 ohm load when the amp blew i had - to +, - to + then from just one coil i had a wire coming off + to box and wire of - to box and at the amp it read .7 ohm then the amp smoked up when i tested it out. 98 Dodge Durango 12 000K 50/55W Headlights 12 000K 35W Fog lights HU Panasonic CQ-VX100 7" Reciever (1) Fi SSD 18" Fully Loaded (1) Ported box 33hz (1) Soundstream TRX1500D (1) Soundstream TRX2.440 (1) RE 6.5" Component Set (1) Rear battery Big 3 in 0/1 gauge 2 runs of 1/0 Gauge wire 250A Alt soon.. emperorjj1
when wired like in the pic it should be the .7 or 1 ohm load. how u wired it when the amp blew is some nonsense that doesnt even exist hence blowing the amp J.
