RB Industries
This was my original post, but I have since decided to go BIGGER... So Scroll down to see the new additions!!! I don't have a huge pocketbook so I have to buy a piece at a time as I get $$$... Please bear with me on my build Thanks for looking!!! ---------------------------------------------------- original post: I hope I can win the "system of the month" because I REallY need the deadener, my truck is rattling like a tin can. This is my daily driver of over 7 years, I have put about 100,000 of my own miles on it. It is getting a little bump to keep me happy. I decided to pull out some classic gear I have been saving for a rainy day. All of the current equipment is from the mid to late 90's (vintage, haha) the same age as the truck itself. This truck had a really huge system back in the day, and now is getting pulled out of "retirement". It had been completely reverted to stock- so I had to start all over. Ran Two runs of 1/0 front to back, A military UPS sealed battery (wicked, lol), Monster Balanced Line Cables, a MS1000 currently running everything- 1 channel pair bridged 2 ohm mono to the subs(class A/B). The other two channels run four mids and four tweets at 2 ohm stereo. Highs are currently some old school Eton's that were made with the Diamond Audio name on them (original euro diamonds). my goal is to hook a second amp up for the highs so I can free both sides up to be only bridged to the subs - 2x the power. currently at 1/2 power the truck hit a 143db legal on the dash at a local Bass Race. I'm hoping to get the 3db gain by using the whole amp on the subs only. The enclosure is made of 13 ply birch and has a removable Port to change tuning. The 143 was hit with the SQ port in. I will sweep the truck to find the resonant frequency and build the SPL port to that tuning. My goal is to get it up as close to 150db as possible. I Have alot of tweaking to do to get it there. Thanks for looking!!! Also the truck has gone through alot of transformation itself, I decided to change the look from bling to off road- so I did a color swap, and restitched the seats. Next step is to deaden it... (to eliminate the tin can effect) LOL and then on to doing something nice with the doors, after that fiberglass trim panels for the rear area. RB Industries
I will have to say that reading the SMD forum has become addictive - as it has stirred up my previous obsession with BASS! So, as we all know... once the bug bites, it's all over. I would like to introduce you to my first two of four Ascendant Audio Mayhem 18's...(look at the size compared to the two Eminence 18's in the middle) SICK! Yes, The Cruiser is getting 4 !!! I don't know of any Landcruisers with 4-18" in them... Heck, most cruiser owners already thought I was going overboard with two 15's... Well, you only live once! Man, this month they are hookin' up a Alternator in the SOTM??? Looks like when this build is all said and done, I'm really going to need one (or more)... So, it looks like I am going to build yet ANOTHER box... But this one will be one will be a little bigger than the 2-15 box... LOL Guess the PG will be running the Highs now Can't wait to see the guy's faces at the local bassrace when I show up with this new system!!! :hairtrick: Quote "Build It And They Will Come"
RB Industries
So I dug around and I have been saving this amp for a rainy day... It is a blue US Amps VLX-400 This is one of the biggest Class A/B amps ever made. It is 4 feet long with 8 power cables. A friend of mine has another one which is green, and I am trying to motivate him to sell it to me. If that happens I can run one VLX-400 per pair of 18's. If I don't get a second VLX- I may have to consider some other amps. On that, I will take suggestions from some other SMD readers since there are so many new class D amps on the market these days. I might have to build a overhead amprack because the box itself is going to take up the entire hatch space. Most likely going to do a battery rack between the frame rails where the spare tire would have been. Should be able to squeeze 8 batteries in there. Now those are some seriously LONG amps... POWER POWER... LOL Quote "Build It And They Will Come"

newls1
I had the same amp back in 1997. Of course it is a crazy awesome amp, but it is a current monster! Dont forget, that is 1/4ohm capable, but OMG, your electrical must be TOP NOTCH! Everything looks badass though!
