I'll break you guys down on a brief history. Back in the 80's and early 90's Lanzar used to be good. Amps were built in the Zed build house up until 2000, when Lanzar was bought by SoundAround. As most of you know SoundAround is Pyramid, Pyle, and Legacy, and now Lanzar. For a while the Lanzar gear was about the same quality as your other three companies. In about 2006 Lanzar started making the Optidrive line. Now it's not from the Zed build house anymore, however, the Optidrive monoblocks have been proven to be under rated, and the subs I have are definitely under rated as well.

I'm 31 and have been doing car audio since before I was able to drive. My uncles were into it and I was doing builds in the mid 80's with them with some crazy amount of woofers off of astounding 800 watts.

So those who say yuck to Lanzar, have you ever heard the gear?

Lanzar back in the hay day of car audio was great along with many other companies such as Orion, Crunch, Hollywood, Earthquake, but honestly anything associated with pyle, pyramid and so on isnt worth the time anymore, even though the OPTI1233D 12's look to be some beefy little suckers. I dont usually see to many people hating on Lanzar though, but you dont see to many real Audio enthusiast running it either. :)

It's been proven again and again that the Opti 4k will do over 4000 watts at 12 volts, and the opti 6000d can do 6800 watts at 14 volts. Not a whole lotta people have tried the subs or components, I have 2 sets of the components and they sound good and take a good bit of power. Same with the subs. As long as you're not clipping, they last. My subs are 3 years old now, no problems.

There was a Lanzar van going around to shows in Cali with 8 15's walled ( DEMO VAN ) that looked great and did 155 music all day, on the mic (TL), back in 2006.

That was impressive http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif

They are just about the same boards Steve, with some minor differences.

The Opti 4000D is good to about 16 volt, the xxx6500 is good to 18 or 20 volt, one of the two. The opti 6kd is good to about the same, same board as the xxx10000. The opti, up until rated voltage, does more power at the same voltage than the XXX series. Where the Soundstreams shine are on 16 volt systems, and Optis are great on 12 volt systems.
