Decaf
wire it to .5 ohm and set dmm at 27.4v 54.77v X 1/2ohm = 27.38v
Boon
wire it to .5 ohm and set dmm at 27.4v54.77v X 1/2ohm = 27.38v And get naff all power when the impedance rises........ If you're running below rated impedance you need more than just a multimeter to set the gains. Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
DGold
Sorry for a little off topic I dont want to make a whole new topic for a short question but I've been doing some reading and read that by setting the gain you are setting the RMS. For example if you had 2 subs that could handle 1000w RMS a piece and the amp your using can only send 300 RMS to each. If the gain is tuned lower then the full your not giving the subs the full 300. Not sure if this is clear enough. or if this information is accurate just kinda wanting a credible answer. Thanks. Full gain does not mean full power. Even set to minimum gain you can drive any amp you can think of well into clipping with the right source attached to it. Quote 10.x volts fo' life! SojiaRaggs9000
"RMS power - 2 ohm linkable/dual mono 5400W x 1" does that mean if i wire the subs up to a 2ohm load bridged that I can set the gain for 3k watts if Im careful?? zfrerichs
no thats if your strap two amps togrther and as long as you have a decent electrical you will be fine with .5 ohm load and the xls can take a lot more power than 1500 watts Quote Roseville, CA
