i have 94 4dr Honda Civic EX. the alt. on my car is the original. the battery was replaced a month ago. I need something that would charge my car and 2000watts. kinda short on cash. can i just change the battery(thinking about a yellow top optima, have to relocate, the battery in the hood is to small, move it to the trunk) or can i add a second battery and go with the orginal alternator, or do i have to change the alt.?HELP?

Hard to say how long it will last, but you will need one. 80 amps is not a lot when you have all the cars systems plus your audio system

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P6000UB

Sub Amp:American Bass VFL 500.1

Subs: 4 Fi BL 18's

Enclosure:21.5 Cubic foot flat wall tuned to 40 hz

Batteries: 3 Kinetik 2400's in the back, Kinetik 1200 under hood.

Mids & Highs: 4 Kicker DS 6.5 coax in doors, 2 Kicker DS coax in pillars

Highs Amp: Kicker kx250.2, kx100.2

Wire: 4 Runs 1/0 gauge Knukonceptz

Trust me, I agree. My alt is 80 amps...it pisses me off. LOL. For 2kW + car accessories (A/C, Lights etc) 80 amps is just not enough...ESPECIALLY at night.

well, since your kinda short on cash, id go with an excessive amperage alt. they are cheaper than the others.
