I need something that would charge my car and 2000watts. kinda short on cash. can i just change the battery(thinking about a yellow top optima, have to relocate, the battery in the hood is to small, move it to the trunk) or can i add a second battery and go with the orginal alternator, or do i have to change the alt.?HELP? AI James
buy a batt now and add it to your existing one then save for an alt as youll need it since your stock alts only 80 amps

Kicker Guy
Hard to say how long it will last, but you will need one. 80 amps is not a lot when you have all the cars systems plus your audio system Quote Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P6000UB Sub Amp:American Bass VFL 500.1 Subs: 4 Fi BL 18's Enclosure:21.5 Cubic foot flat wall tuned to 40 hz Batteries: 3 Kinetik 2400's in the back, Kinetik 1200 under hood. My alt is 80 amps...it pisses me off. LOL. For 2kW + car accessories (A/C, Lights etc) 80 amps is just not enough...ESPECIALLY at night. dleccord
what's your setup like? for 2000watts, i would buy the group 31 sized batteries but since you have a civic, you might have to relocate it or remove some shit under the hood. Slinky
well, since your kinda short on cash, id go with an excessive amperage alt. they are cheaper than the others.
