Connecting Power Wire To Battery

Recommended Posts

Using a ring terminal will work fine. If this is for a Tahoe (I'm guessing because of your name) then I recommend switching to a dual post battery. Use the side posts for your stock wiring and the top post to add on for you system.

I have to look at my battery. I'm not sure if it's top or side post. They may have changed it in 2007.

It's top mount. I took some pics and I don't have a clue where to run this wire. Can anyone help me. I'd kinda like to get past this stage. Also, there is a compartment near headlight on the driver's side that looks like a battery can go there.

This is the area I was talking about.

I'd just use the battery that you have & use a ring terminal. All you gotta do now is find a place to run you're wire back.

Oh no, you can just leave that other spot empty for now. Keep the battery you have where it is now connected and everything, just find a place to run your power wire back to your amp and hook it up to the batt by soldering or crimping a ring terminal on. What size wire are you running?

if your just gonna do dual batteries, keep the factory one in its spot and put your kinetik, optima etc... in the other spot since your system will draw from it first. also you might want to consider using an isolator if your gonna run the system with the engine off so your not drawing from the factory battery as the second one is draining.
