R_Mac_1
Just for reference the Sundown SAE1200D I just got has 5 30 amp fuses and is rated at 1200w @ 1 ohm. I heard it's actually capable of about 1500w. Rogers
ok so lets go ahead a take another step into reality.... what fuse rating do i need to be looking for to get the kind of power that im looking for? Eric B
or you could get the amp put in your car and clamp it and see what it does.. Derrick824
It's a good guesstimate that fuse rating x 10 will be it's rough power output. 100a = 1kwatts 200a = 2kwatts & so on.
raytard
x2 on derrick, that usually comes up pretty close...most amps are lower though 500amp on a rockford 4000rms amp (although they usually hit 4600-4800) 160amps on my 1500rms amp 75amps on my 600rms amp keep in mind that effeciency drop from low impedance can cause a decrease in output...i've seen a few rockford t3k's do more at 2 ohm than 1, and dont even think about crown amps (which will triple the 1ohm output at 6ohms) Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC

Eric B
u cant go by ratings... even RMS.. that gives a ballpark figure yes, but when u hook ur sub up to it in the box and play it and measure your impedance rise and your actual power output its sometimes close sometimes not.. check n see youll be suprised.. David
SS amplifiers, not what they used to be. ( so sad too, they used to be the shiz of the shiz)
Rogers
yeah with 4 subs i immagine impedance rise would be insane.... well i was hoping i could find a cheaper alternative... but im thinking im just going to have to break down and buy the aq2200d... because it seems like the cheapest thing that will actually do rated power....
