Lowroll
I may be wrong but iv heard that an amp has to be in a metal case bc the mosfet's have to be grounded out for the amp to work? correct me if im wrong. Neel
No. It would be like running your computer processor without a heatsink and a fan blowing at it. The Fets will get toasty real quick without having the casing (heatsink) to dissipate all the heat. Quote Too Much Stuff to list .

Boon
Nah it'll blow up. A. The 99% of the time the FETs must NOT be grounded B. You could just buy a collection of heatsinks and attach them to it... Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
CarAudioFab
How does the casing go missing? Shyne151
Have you ever felt an amp when it's in use? They are usually warm to hot. Imagine how hot the components would get if it didn't have the heat sink to disperse that heat In other words, not I wouldn't run it without a case/heat sink. Guest
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=320-830 what would that do?
Lowroll
They are suggesting that you use that to mount the amp to. It would act as the case.
