tape the 1/0 wire on the 0 gauge ring terminal.

Why would you need to tape the wire onto the ring terminal? Why wouldn't you crimp it? If the ring terminal is left bare then the best thing would be to use heat shrink but electrical tape will work to cover the exposed part.

i hate the lil cheap crimpers that you buy that look like a set of pyers. So i use a razor blade and a vice and i am good to go, if it comes loose they were tryin hard.

It's pretty easy, just take a propane torch, heat up the top real good, (make sure you coat the wire with flux before you put it in the terminal), and then start filling the top with solder. Then I like to take the flame to the outside of the terminal, because doing that flows the solder down into the ring, and provides a stronger hold. I use a loot of solder on my terminals. And then I just fill the top in when I'm done, sometimes having to grind off the extra.

hold the terminal in a vice, or have a frien hold it with some pliers, heat it up with a torch, stick your wire in the terminal, and start laying on the solder nice and thick. if your terminal is the kind that cups the wire on the end near the ring just fill it up sith solder as your heating it up and then stick your stripped wire into the cup, remove the heat and bam! soldered terminal!

I'm pretty good at soldering. I put chip in trains which was hard since everything is small. Flex help out alot when soldering. Best thing to use.
