That is why it doesnt get hot, but to the average Joe that has one run of 4Gauge pushing 1000W + Every added splice is a bit if a bottleneck. You have to remember that this is probably what this guy is used to working with. I only said that he is correct in stating that by reducing the surface area the power has to flow, you are in a sense bottlenecking it. But once again this doesnt apply to you. This is probably gonna go over alot of heads but Steve, you seem like a pretty smart guy so you should understand. If your power needs require a certain amount of wire to be efficient, that can be translated into surface area of the wire needed to carry the load effectively without resistance. simply put, if you need x amount of surface area to flow x amount of current, then as long as those buss bars etc. are equivalent to that number (x), then you could technically run nothing but buss bars and still not have problems. This guy is just assuming that your wiring is barely enough to flow the power, so he thinks that because the surface area of the soldering at the connections and the buss bars is less than the wire, that it is bottlenecking. Sorry, I just had to clear up my previous statement so that you wouldnt think that I too was an internet moron. He thinks that since i have MORE connectors, i have done something wrong..........when i dont have a choice, i have to connect it all to itself SOMEHOW. I dont personally think those lugs are bottlenecks in the least bit......but if they were, having more doesnt hurt (when coming from the same source) it only helps. Like Steve said, if you have insufficient crimps, solder, or dinky buss bars then you might see some issues. Kinda goes without saying though that most of us are not noobs. We know that the ground wire is more important than the 12v lead. And that bad connections can cause equip failure. And far as the best connection ever....... get a huge fucking battery, cut the top off, drop an alt in there and then pour all that into your big amplifier. or just smelt them all together.
