hey its possible to do the hair trick in a trunk... i have 4 12" alpine type r's and an audioque2200d........ subs up vent to the passengers side....

you should click the link in my signature to see more... but here is a taste!

i did this with a stock alt and 3 regular 500cca batts, with my voltage dropping into the 11's, impedance rise like a bitch and not to mention my drivers side window was down too...

immagine what it would be like if i had a ho alt and could keep my voltage in the 14's...

Just a wild thought, but do you have enough room to do a 4th order or even 6th order in the trunk and seal the trunk off with the port in the wall?

My latest project; 87 Accord Hatchback!... Only got my 6 1/2's in it right now... I'm working on shining my engine to show quality right now, then I'll put it in. System will come around the 1st.

couple problems with that. I dont think i have enough space. I only have a max of 6.5 cubes to work with, and the sub is too tall to facefront or back. Second problem is i wouldnt know how to design the enclosure.

I say keep the 18 fire it forwards at an angle keep it around 5 to 6 cubes seal it off with the port firing forward 2 add another aq2200 and tune to 32 should do a nice hair trick. If you are chasing #s then tune to 40 to 45 hertz just my .02 cents.

Check my sig for my current build. I used to have a single 12" Solo X and could move hair. Right now (all temporary) I have a single 15" T2 on 500 watts moving as much hair as my 12". As soon as I get my 18" GZ back and the 5kw it wants, expect a very nice and big hairtrick. As long as you can get that sub firing into your car and not wasting it all on the trunk lid you should be good for a nice hairtrick. If you have the room, you could mount your sub like mine and run ports on both sides of it. I would keep the 18", hardly see trunks rockin them, and I guarantee your trunk is bigger than mine.

Be sure to comment on her smile, too. She hates the camera. :D

I also have this issue with my nightshade. Just need to sell her and get some nice 12's, maybe some XL's or something more lows orientated but NOT SQ lol. But also, I would say probably 2x the power, heard good AND bad things bout the X's and just Dynamat or Hushmat or whatever the sh*t outta the trunk and that will help to a degree

I like the idea of keeping the 18.
