LSN2meBoom916 Posted April 20, 2007 Author Report Share Posted April 20, 2007 Got a lil more done on the truck's box today. Sealed it all up extra just in case-overkill=better than underkill. Decided I could go with more "open/clear" plexi so I redrew it a lil wider and cut out the cover masking material. Pre-drilled the outside where the screws will go through. Pre-drilled the inner-side of the braces too Taped up the lower plexi windows so i could primer over where it didn't need to be clear inside the box Pre-drilled the sides from outside using a tiny 1/8" bit. This way I can "align" the holes in the mdf w/ the holes I will make in the plexi. The plexi pre-drills will be much larger since plexi is NOT forgiving when it comes to a larger screw than the hole it's passing through-the mdf will get the hell outta the way and just stretch a bit-the plexi will crack and break apart=teh sucko! More plexi pre-drills Screws pushing glue into the pre-drilled holes= nice and secure Other side. Threw some grey primer over it just so it's uniform under the trim pieces Both sides done just as the sun was gone for the night. Think thats about it till sunday/monday when I can hit it up a lil more. I doubt I'll get any done 2morrow since I'm doing a ride along w/ SacSherrif, but I promise to post em as they go down.
