Charger
Thanks for all your comments guys, especially Steve, it's an honor to have you post in here. The L7s were good, they did 137dB @ 18hz off literally no power. But they get really stinky real fast and I had the chance to upgrade... The T4000 is a nice amp, looks physically bigger than the DD but you can see which one has more 'goodies' inside. Looks damn nice too but takes up so much room in the car, here's a picture of it installed. This pic really shows the size compared to my wagon, which is considered a 'big' car over here... :\ It'd be a nightmare to fit four in! Here's a quick pic of my front kick panels. It was a squeeze to fit 7" Dynaudio Midbass Drivers in but they're in. Just need finishing 'one of these days' PS: I'll be doing a bit of burping this afternoon, (it's 10:51AM right now) so hopefully some not too embarrassing numbers shall follow. Charger
I don't think I'll be posting anymore pics, I'm highly considering throwing in the towel and selling all the big shit and just making a small system. Charger
Okay so since the Z1a was sent of for repairs it has given me some time to do some building and reevaluate the system. Voltage was a serious problem from the start so I'm ordering two Odyssey 2150s for now and a third one later. Big alternator will come shortly. I've painted up the box in gloss black and added another run of cable joining the front and rear batteries. We have a small show this Saturday so I'm borrowing the T4000 again and hopefully a third 2150 just to play with. I'll post some videos up from the show if everything goes to plan. Copy and paste from my install thread on another forum: Finished the second run linking the two batteries all good and proper. Fused at both ends and covered with black conduit. Box is now gloss black but I'm not happy with the dodgy finish it will do. Have to still finish the port and paint the whole inside of the enclosure with resin. Then all I have to do is figure out how to fit the batteries in! Here's a random pic I found of me at Autosalon Perth, it's one of our only dB Drag events which kinda sucks. You can see the big Z1a through the seats. This is where the wagon did 147.2dB @ 40hz The judges kinda freaked out when I sat in the car, I wasn't even going to wear earmuffs, I mean, it's not that loud. I had to sit the CD player on my lap because the damn thing skips in the dash. For my second and final run they wouldn't let me sit in the car so I had to balance the player on a towel and a CD wallet and try and operate it through my window. With a player with no pause and a dodgy JVC remote burping the car can be quite hard. I backed up my first run with only 145.5dB because I left the seat up (doh) and I had been doing music demos and burps all day long, oh well still good for a trophie Previous 150+ daily rides: Volvo 240 wagon 2 x DD Audio 9915s walled, Isuzu Trooper 6 x DD Audio 3515s walled clamshell, Lexus LX470 2 x Kicked Solo X 18s, Lexus LS400 4 x American Bass HD18 walled SMD - System of The Month August 2008 My Youtube Videos
