30Hz.wav
I bought this exact set, from the site in which the link I posted... http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=22024 along with this 4 channel hifonics amp, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=20603 I had the fosgate mid and tweets hooked up to the 1st and 2nd channel via the crossover it came with. They worked great, well yesterday the tweeters stopped working out of nowhere while cruising and playing at low volume... There is NO sound whatsoever coming out of them, but the mid speaker works perfect. Both tweeters went out at exact same time? wtf What do I do from here? I paid 200$, and that is alot for me right now... Btw, the gains on the amp were very low... I hooked up my old kenwood front speakers for now, and I am kind of disappointed with the fosgates as I think my cheap old kenwoods sound better. bigredishott
Good luck, should have bought from a dealer. I had purchased a set of kappa perfects from a discount online site, blew a mid bass in 2 months infinity wouldn't even talk to me. can always sell the mid-basses and xovers on ebay or try to by another set of tweets. meade916
tweeters dont just blow, you either had too much power on them or your signal was clipped hard..... "very low" gains on the amp doesnt mean anything if it, the eq before it, or the deck itself is clipping... sucks your having problems but dont blame the tweets, blame your install. puyallupn8ive
Yeah, I bought a set of Alpine from that same dealer, and I blew a tweeter with in a week and had to just buy new ones because they wouldn't replace them, and Alpine wouldn't help either. It was my fault they blew. sactownstang
everybody plays their shit at low volumes and gains are always set right or low when people blow shit... Dunno how u guys do it.... usually when I blow my shit my gains are up and my system is at max.... Make sure the wire didn't come off would be my first thought, if it's blown then buy another set and have spares...
meade916
BTW: open up those crossovers if you can, there might be a little light bulb looking thing in there (which is a bulb, but acts as a fuse). If its burnt, you can get one at any autoparts store... Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! puyallupn8ive
I'm having a weird problem with my other set of mids, the RF ones, The bulb inside the crossover keeps blowing, and I can't figure it out. 30Hz.wav
BTW: open up those crossovers if you can, there might be a little light bulb looking thing in there (which is a bulb, but acts as a fuse). If its burnt, you can get one at any autoparts store... Thanks for the tip. But I hooked up a direct audio wire from the amp to the tweet to see if any noise would come and heard nothing... Probably did clip the shit out of it, my only reasonable guess... ^ Think I'm going to go with bigredishott and just buy new tweeters and keep the mids... I guess a lesson learned from clipping... I don't want my subs to be next...
newls1
I had this issue about 2 months ago, and got in contact with RF support guy via email, and RF replaced my X-Overs for nothing. By far the best support I have ever experienced. Try going to RF's website and email them about your issue, and see if they might offer a helping hand. Wont hurt, you know Quote I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
